What ‘Garage Equipment’ is usually examined?
General tools used for vehicle maintenance, service and repair. This includes lifting jacks and lifting devices i.e vehicle ramps, trolley jacks, transmission jacks and attachments used for locating, fixing or supporting the equipment.
This reactive and planned statutory examination service is key to many customers throughout the central midlands, our fleet of mobile vehicle ramp examination testing vehicles are fully equipped with the latest hydraulic dynamic load testing machines & calibrated measuring equipment.
To conform to current LOLER & PUWER legislation your garage equipment, trolley jacks, transmission jacks and associated car service and repair accessories must be thoroughly examined by a competent person and all accompany records recorded.
We specialise in offering a planned contracted schedule ensuring you are fully compliant with all legal requirements Worlifts will manage your garage equipment inventory offering you peace of mind that your lifting items are fit for task and when used in service they will be fully operational and correctly certified.
Our thorough examination, thorough inspection of vehicle lifting equipment can include dynamic testing of existing two poster car ramps and four poster vehicle ramps, proof load testing of newly installed or relocated ramps and associated hydraulic jacks, jacking beams and hydraulic cylinders.
This unique service will ensure the correct operation the equipment through the full operation at maximum capacity ensuring correct in use operation.
Hydraulic jacks and hydraulic cylinders dependent on manufacturer are also dynamically tested, hydraulic pumps are pressure tested ensuring pressure relief valves are correctly operational and that the working pressure is held correctly, hydraulic hoses are also pressure tested checking for potential defective hydraulic fittings and quick release couplings.
SAFETY in mind Statement!
Many companies will perform at best a 'visual inspection or function test'.
Worlifts always recommend a test is performed on all lifting equipment with a braking mechanism during any examination, inspection or following repair to confirm its correct functioning. This type of test ensures the lifting items works correctly through its full cycle operation, this is even more essential when testing on-site as you may have no equipment history, making a dynamic test the only test that should be carried out.
On a final note, visual inspections without operating the equipment really tell the inspector very little. You cannot tell the condition of the internal working parts, a hydraulic bottle jack or hydraulic trolley jack can be badly bashed from the outside and yet still work perfectly, while what appears to be a brand new hydraulic lifting device or even hydraulic bottle jack may have been over loaded in its first operation causing the frame or threaded support to be damaged, both of these conditions can only 100% be verified by dynamic testing of your lifting equipment, lifting gear and lifting tackle.
