Rail Electrification is Far From Guaranteed

Although many would argue that rail electrification is a good thing and in some cases, essential, it's by no means guaranteed that all lines will be electrified.

Barrow and Furness MP John Woodcock has urged the Furness community to make a "concerted case" for rail electrification line after a warning from the boss of Network Rail. via Rail electrification plea by Furness MP John Woodcock

Rail electrification will help local economies by allowing for more frequent trains, reducing the effect on the enviornment and potentially bringing jobs, but due to spiralling costs, there's no guarantee everyone will get it.

So, in some places, people are going to have to fight for it.

Mr Woodcock said: “With new nuclear infrastructure arriving in Cumbria it is vital to our economy that Furness is properly connected to the rest of the country, especially by rail. via Rail electrification plea by Furness MP John Woodcock
